The Board of Directors (BOD) of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the central bank of Nepal, comprise of seven members. Among those four are ex-officio members and three are non-executive Directors. The four ex-officio members include the Governor who is Chairperson of the BOD; the Secretary, Government of Nepal (GON), Ministry of Finance; and two Deputy Governors. Governor and both Deputy Governors are appointed by GON, Councils of Ministers for a term of five years as per NRB Act, 2002 as executives and have fulltime service at NRB. The three non-executive Directors are also appointed for a term of five years as per NRB Act, 2002 by the GON, Councils of Ministers amongst the persons renowned in the fields of Economics, Monetary, Banking, Finance and Commercial Law.
